About Web Wench Designs
Behind Web Wench Designs is Melissa Austernin, who is based in a regional community about 80km west of the Queensland state capital Brisbane, in Australia. The name "Web Wench" came about as a playful alternative to the familiar term "Webmaster".
Melissa enjoys working for small business people and community groups where she can provide the benefit of her IT knowledge and experience. She finds it very rewarding to contribute towards the success her clients have with their web sites.
Web design for Melissa began as a self-taught hobby, and gradually evolved through volunteer work and paid positions into self-employment. Most of her knowledge about web development, server side technologies and hosting was picked up during 7 years of working for ISP companies.
Melissa continually updates her IT knowledge and is presently studying part-time towards an Internet Studies degree while running her business and working part-time in the community sector.
